Urban Farmer's Reclamation Department can help you implement
your site's storm water management, erosion control and seeding
needs. Effective erosion and sediment control at a site requires that
a full suite of redundant controls be applied to help prevent adverse
effects from storm water runoff on a site. We utilize mats and
blankets, mulches, vegetative stabilization (seeding), and silt fencing
for perimeter control to minimize sediment from leaving the
construction site.
We can assist you with your vegetative stabilization on construction sites to help prevent erosion control. Our crews are skilled at spreading seed with a straw cover to protect the seeds, or at hydroseeding larger areas. The advantage of hydroseeding is that it spreads seed and mulch at the same time.
We can also add soil amendments to improve the quality of the soil to augment the success rate of the seed growth.
We can apply your straw, fiber and wood mulches for erosion control. Straw mulches can be blown onto a site with a straw blower to cover larger areas. We utilize tackifier (glue), crimping (punching the straw into the ground) and fiber mulch to help keep the straw in place, depending on your sites needs.
If you have the need for erosion control on steep slopes or channels, Urban Farmer’s Reclamation Department can help you with the use of mats and blankets. The mats and blankets are secured in place using staples and are a very effective tool for erosion control in areas where mulches won’t work.
Urban Farmer can install your silt fencing to control the perimeter of your construction site. We utilize the latest in equipment technology that allows us to install more linear feet of silt fencing and in various weather conditions and soils, without the limitations of traditional trenching.
Urban Farmer’s Reclamation department can assist you in filtering the runoff from your construction site as it flows into storm drains. The use of waddles will help filter the sediment from flowing into the drains. Periodic inspection and maintenance of the inlet is crucial and we can provide that service.
